Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen's Spiritual Awakening and Divine Allegiance

Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman was only thirty-seven when he devoted himself completely to strengthen his relationship with Allah. Gradually, his soul became more and more anxious to meet its Beloved. This created an upheaval in his inward.

One day, he came across a strange man dressed in a peculiar manner who revealed, "The period of Allah's grace has begun for you. Remain steadfast on your inner state." On hearing about his esoteric condition from an unknown person, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen got quite surprised and enquired who he was.

"I am the one who helps people and shows them the way. I have come just to see you." After a short while, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen tried to search him but he seemed to have disappeared. He described the appearance of that man to the people around but no one had seen any man with such appearance.

SPIRITUAL OATH OF ALLEGIANCE

Thence, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen restricted his involvement in worldly matters and absorbed himself in intense worship of Allah. Sometimes the inner restlessness increased so much that he wept for hours.

In March 1997, he read a book in which it was written that the Holy Prophet never declined any wish or request of his beloved daughter Fatimah-tuz-Zahra. Even the sacred wives of the Holy Prophet used to send their requests to him through Fatimah-tuz-Zahra and he always accepted them.

After reading this statement Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen made it his routine to present his request for the blessing of closeness to Allah in the court of the Holy Prophet through the mediation of Fatimah-tuz-Zahra. He besought her holy grace to consider him a beggar of her court and just as she never returned any beggar empty-handed in her physical life, similarly, bless him fully with her kindness by forwarding his request to the Holy Prophet to show him the Divine path to Allah.

Spiritual Experience of April 12, 1997

After a month his prayers were answered when, on 12th April 1997, he had a spiritual experience in which he was blessed with presence in the Mohammadan Assembly.

"On the night of 12th April 1997, after offering Tahajud prayer I esoterically found myself in the Mohammadan Assembly where Ali ibn Abi Talib, Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali were sitting to the right of the Holy Prophet while Abu Bakr Siddiq, Umar ibn Khattab, Usman ibn Affan and the leaders of the four spiritual orders were sitting to the left."

The grandeur of this holy assembly and the magnificent splendour of its members made me spellbound. I was about to collapse with awe when Ali ibn Abi Talib held my hand and let me sit near the feet of the Holy Prophet saying, 'Respected Prophet! This is Najib-ur-Rehman. He is your slave and the spiritual son of your dear daughter (Fatimah-tuz-Zahra) who has chosen him to grant the legacy of Faqr. She has presented him to your court for approval.'

Sarwari Qadri disciple is actually the one who takes oath of allegiance at the hand of Prophet Mohammad. His existence is purified of all the immoral behaviours and he is blessed with the Divine favour to adopt the Mohammadan sharia.

"Some of the Sarwari Qadri followers possess such an elite status that they are directly blessed with the benevolence of the Holy Prophet. Then he assigns them to Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani who blesses them in such a way that they are never separated from him even for a single moment." (Mehak-ul-Faqr Kalan)

"Then, the Holy Prophet stretched both his sacred hands towards me, I held both the hands of the Holy Prophet and pledged allegiance. Afterwards, the Holy Prophet looked towards the four spiritual leaders and said to Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani while giving my hand in his hands, 'You have his spiritual legacy. He is the beloved son of my daughter Fatimah and now he is my spiritual son as well as yours. I entrust him to you, his spiritual training is now your responsibility.'"

After this spiritual experience, Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani began the spiritual training of Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen and enriched him with his benevolence. He gave him the Divine knowledge of all the attributive names of Allah. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen recited each name millions of times.

"In February 1998, he had a dream in which an extremely charismatic person with an enlightened countenance said to him, 'Come my son. I am waiting for you.' On waking up, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen was astonished and from that very moment, he started searching that awe-inspiring face."

"In the dream that venerable person opened an old box from which a golden Ism-e-Allah Zaat rose high and started shining near his sacred head like the sun. Then he said, 'Son! You have suffered a lot of hardships. Now just come to me, I am waiting for you.' He added while pointing towards the Ism-e-Allah Zaat, 'I have this Trust of yours and I have been waiting for you for a long time to hand over this Trust to you.'"

"Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen's search at last met its destination when on the 12th of April 1998 (15th Dhul al-Hijjah 1418 AD), he found his spiritual guide by the guidance of both Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani and Sultan Bahoo."

When Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen saw the face of his dreams in front of him, he felt as if he had found the treasures of both the worlds. The eyes of the lover and the beloved met and covered the distance of centuries in moments by recognising each other. He knew without any doubt that he had found the perfect spiritual guide.

"So, you are finally here my son." This esteemed entity was none other than Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali. The same day, after the sunset (Maghrib) salat, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen pledged allegiance to Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali. From the very first day, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen was on the highest pedestal of Divine love and since then his spiritual status is continuously elevating.

From that day onwards, he spent each moment of his life devoting all his physical, spiritual and mental abilities as well as his wealth to serve his spiritual guide and support him in his mission of spreading Faqr. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen annihilated himself in his spiritual guide to such an extent that he became his exact reflection.
